The problem with the entire concept of both nuclear weapons and the global climate meltdown is that it too abstract for most people. Without concrete evidence of a catastrophe, people can easily dismiss it, either as not being real or as overactive scientists, despite the occasional reminder. The only hope is that humanity dies out due to lower birth rates rather than experiencing some form of a fiery death.
