EBB Deadline and Retrofit TIPS

The deadline to get a permit for your EBB retrofit is a little over a month 
away. You now have  forty (40) days  to upload your permit, retrofit plans and 
pre-retrofit photos to your EBB  Homeowner Dashboard

us for an extension two weeks before you reach that deadline . Please note 
that we will not grant an extension any earlier than two weeks prior to your 
deadline.

   to find a licensed contractor near you who is FEMA trained to do seismic 
   retrofits.
   *  You can reach out directly to multiple contractors, randomly selected 
   from the Directory, to request bids right from your Homeowner Dashboard.
   *  Get multiple bids to keep your cost down. When homeowners get two or 
   more bids, the final cost is often significantly lower.
   *  Be persistent; if you don’t hear back from one contractor, call 
   another one.
   *  The retrofit work required by the building code is done  in the crawl 
   space and only to the continuous perimeter of the foundation . Check your 
   quote to ensure only this work is included in your bid. If you’re not
