It's unfair to just say that this election had the 3rd largest turnout of
any election without also saying that Biden received more votes than any
candidate in any American election ever. I.e., Trump win was not a
mandate, but Biden's definitely was. (An aside: the below-cited article
does not mention that being unemployed contributes to whether people vote
or not; without having to work, why not vote?)
Also, not even 50% of Americans were represented in this latest 2024
election. We would have needed about 7% more citizens voting in order to
achieve that.
