Hello Noelle and Robert,
Hope you are both good and all is swell. Brad and I are ok. We had to
temporarily move out of our condo due to construction (bathroom remodel and
rear enclosed porch reinforcement, to accommodate heavier heat pump water
heater and heat pump clothes dryer). PV and batteries next.
Thanks for postcard from The Witch House in Salem :))). It sounded a bit
on the touristy side? I looked at your photos, and it did seem like a
spectacular vacation. The Old Mill Innâ??â??I'd like to stay there. The fall
foliage made me reminisce about when Brad and I lived in Brooklyn, and used
to go to Vermont to see the leaves. Sigh. I'm glad that you both had such
a lovely time; you richly deserve it!
How would you feel about filling out two postcards. One, for Noelle, re:
Ormond Beach Generating Station near Oxnard. (Noelle, you could say
something such as "I grew up in Santa Barbara///nearby, where my parents
still live. It is important for me that Ormond be closed, due to pollution
of surrounding area///due to operating expenses, which could be better
spent on solar or wind///due to the health and well-being of the
community///due to release of CO2 and other noxious gasses into the
atmosphere, aggravating the climate crisis, etc.)
The second, for Robert, re: Russell City Energy Center (where-I-live). Robert,
you could say that you live in the South Bay, and are concerned about
whatever (you can use the same talking points as for Noelle, although I'm
certain you can come up with plenty of your own).
Please write your name on the postcards. You do NOT have to write your
address, or any contact info. When you're done, please mail postcards to
meâ??â??I've got to send them all back to Julia Dowell, who will use them
(either hard copies and/or virtual copies) in various campaigns with
Ca Public Utilities Commission, Ca Energy Commission, and
LA Public Utilities Commission. This is a Sierra Club campaign. We've
been filing legal briefs, testifying at meetings, pulling our hair out,
etc., all to no avail. So now we're trying these.
If you have questions or anything, contact Julia Dowell,
http://www.sierraclub.org/~julia.dowell, 562.858.9957 (text or call). She's super
friendly and always happy to hear from folks.
I've got to get all my postcards back to Julia by DECEMBER 10TH.
If you're swamped, or not into this, or anything else, no worries, really
and truly. I have a list of people to contact.
Cheerio,
Olga
