Robert, I am glad your job situation worked out, but that sounds  like a
stinker of a company. You should keep looking because the grass is probably
greener on the other side. Or if something like that happens again, you may
want to consider contracting. You can actually sign up with a contracting
company and you are considered an employee of that company and receive
benefits through them. So many options to not deal with stinkers.
