"On the economy, many working-class voters want more economic growth and
don't care what the environmental costs are, and that puts them at odds
with the Democrats." What's ironic is that the economy always does much
better under Democrats. It just shows that humans are so easily deceived.
"Various political scientists say that economics is not the real problem."
This is definitely not correct. It was all about the economy and
messaging about the economy. It was obvious even in the Trump-Harris
debate -- she could just not give a straight answer on how to control
inflation. And, again, this just leads to randomness and not democracy at
all -- who wins will dependent completely on how the economy is in the
election year.
"Maybe a folksy Southern governor (a modern-day Bill Clinton) could do the
trick." If there's anything that I do not want, it's another Bill
Clinton. Or Barak Obama, for that matter. I do not like these people at
all, and I suspect most people agree with me.
