All the more reason to turn to encryption and encrypted messaging.
The trusted encrypted messaging systems I know of:
* Signal
* Briar
* Session
* Simplex (which I haven't installed yet)
Signal uses central servers and are more likely to be shut down, but the
others use decentralized servers. Signal, Briar, and Session have
identity tracing, but Simplex does not. (Session will be allowing
multiple identities in the future, which will help.) Signal, Briar, and
Simplex are immune from replay attacks, but Session is vulnerable (and
this will always remain the case because of its network architecture).
