It's hard to say whether buying the standalone $6000 stove would be
cheaper or more expensive than buying an off-the-shelf induction stove and
hiring an electrician to do the wiring. (I asked Edward Jacome, the
handyman who fixed our laundry washing machine, about wiring for an
electric stove and he was talking about needing to expand the electrical
panel to accomodate the 240V outlet. I was surprised that it would
require that -- that could definitely cost quite a bit of money, not to
mention the hassle of turning off and on the electricity multiple times.)
