I don't know if the critique of Christian Parenti is entirely fair.
Parenti does make some good points.  I never really ever saw him as a
radical leftist, anyway.

People frequently change their minds.  For example, David Brooks has come
a little bit to the left.  Naomi Wolff moved to the right.  People change.
I think it's fine.  The key is to be aware of the change and adjust
accordingly.
