When I got re-hired at my work after the "accidental" lay-off, I made the
decision to leave nothing at my desk in my cubicle since I didn't want to
go through the stress of being denied entrance to the building and having
my stuff shipped to me again. Like you, I was worried about the amount of
stuff, but it was less than I had imagined. OTOH, there are now 3 boxes
(containing an ergonomic keyboard, mouse, and various wiring) in the
basement which I'll never open since I'll probably never have another
cubicle in an office again. Oh, and all the books migrated to our
bookshelves, but those are slowly moving into free little libraries in the
neighborhood.
