open source is dead



https://www.theregister.com/2026/03/06/ai_kills_software_licensing/?featured_on=pythonbytes I heard about this on the Python Bytes podcast. Although an interesting argument, I fail to see why the author was not able to change the license of the original code since he owned the copyright. But, I guess we would've never heard of this kerfuffle otherwise.
