Re: Karikuri lottery

Man, I wouldn't call thinking you'll live more than 87 years "optimistic"! I so don't understand why people like Peter Thiel want to live forever. Especially since, if everyone starts living for a long time, they'll have to increase the retirement age for Social Security, right? In a perfect world, everyone would stay 100% healthy until their 80th birthday and then just suddenly and painlessly die. Imho. I think I would even go so far as to let doctors hand out poison pills to 80-year-olds, although I'm aware that there are issues about one's heirs wanting one to die for bad reasons. But if it was a social convention that the 80th birthday is the day for everyone, that wouldn' t be an issue. The trouble is that (some) rich people would find ways to break the rule, sigh. But it's good news that they think you'll have enough money in retirement! That part does count as optimistic. I hope they're right.
