both Mexie and Taylor Lorenz gave up being vegans

I read that Lorenz gave up being a vegan after being a vegan for 25 years. It seems like health is the common theme behind turning to a carnivore / omnivore diet, and was wondering about that. I found a few sites relevant to this. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-41158365 IBS seems to be the most common reason, which sorta makes sense. Oddly, there are a number of a vegetables that can and should be eaten with IBS, according to https://ahs.atlantichealth.org/about-us/stay-connected/news/content-central/2024/common-triggers-for-irritable-bowel-syndrome.html . https://faunalytics.org/a-summary-of-faunalytics-study-of-current-and-former-vegetarians-and-vegans/ This references a couple of interesting studies, https://faunalytics.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Faunalytics_Current-Former-Vegetarians_Full-Report.pdf and https://faunalytics.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/HRC-Study-of-Current-Former-Vegetarians-Vegans-Dec-2014-Tables-Methodology-1.pdf . Statistically, most people give up being vegan for non-health reasons and the most common reason is that it is difficult maintaining a vegan diet (which is obvious). Lack of community support is a big factor and joining a group of vegetarians and vegans seems to "keep them in the fold". Turnover is fantastically high. 10% of the U.S. population has tried either vegetarianism or veganism, but only 20% of those people keep it up. I guess the latest backlash against vegans has probably not helped things in the sense that fewer people will be willing to try it in the first place.
