Re: more surveillance and PostHog too

When, in American's history, has anyone ever favored a national ID? I think it is precisely this feature that distinguishes Americans from those in other countries, especially countries in Europe. I always wondered why, after Nazi Germany used identification papers to target people for extermination, Germany and most other European countries continued to maintain the practice of requiring people to keep their identification on them at all times. Perhaps it was lingering anti-semitism that they just could never shake off? > From: Noelle <noelle> > Date: Sun, 28 Jun 2026 10:03:29 -0700 (PDT) > > from electoral-vote.com > > M.T. in Paris, France (but originally from Los Angeles), writes: > This whole problem with verifying citizenship in order to register > Americans to vote is actually the result of not having a national ID > card like most countries have.
