debconf

Today, I discovered debconf. I didn't realize that it was a "shadow" configuration database for Debian. I discovered this when I spent almost all yesterday moving SSD and hard drives from my wife's old computer (fan died) to a new computer, and had trouble getting it to boot into Linux again. (Apparently, the drive that grub-install uses is cached in debconf, and that, besides the fact that "/boot/efi" was mounted to the wrong drive, caused me hours of grief.)
