I've made the reservation for the 9 of us!
Since the restaurant doesn't take reservations normally, but agreed to do so as a special case, please update me if your RSVP status changes.
Important notes about the food:
1) The items labeled VEGAN on their menu are not necessarily vegan (strangely enough). VEGAN on their menu means a vegan option is available,
but one must request the vegan option to be made vegan. The restaurant is vegetarian, though.
2) In the spirit of this group of friends, let's all order VEGAN!
3) It's difficult to share much of South Indian food family style (dosa, chutneys, sambar, thalis etc), so I suggest ordering individually and sharing locally if desired.

A couple of updates based on questions/ comments:
1) The restaurant has no outdoor dining — only indoors. The optional ice cream place does have a few outdoor tables.
2) I was informed that an "SBV" (South Bay Veggies) invitation should have included the SBV google group and unfortunately I am not comfortable posting to that group (for various reasons). Therefore, I have updated my subject line to reflect that this is
not an official SBV event, but merely a private gathering of friends (including folks who are not in that google group).
3) Several people have already replied that they can't make it. So I've removed them from this email distribution list. Please don't add them back on!

Let's celebrate Sarah's birthday with our veggie group! I've recently discovered a South Indian vegetarian restaurant ("SouthIndies") with many vegan options. They do not take weekend reservations in general, but after describing our group, they agreed to
give an early 5pm dinner reservation. After the meal, in line with summertime we could drive down a couple of miles to visit an ice cream parlor ("Pints of Joy"), which has a few vegan options.
