I watched some of the 9/11 25th anniversary tributes on TV, and it got me
thinking about major anniversaries. For India, I counted it as the 79th
anniversary, since India gained it's Independence in 1947. (2026 - 1947 = 79).
That's counting the same way as we do to arrive at 250 years for the US.
However, apparently there are different ways that folks in India are
counting... so they can also come up with 80! It's the difference between
starting to count from zero vs. one. Here is an interesting article about
