I don't know which is worst:

(1) the fact that Ars Technica used to be the free "open-source" 
univeristy run by some MIT/Gnu guys.

(2) the cheezy "warning" animated gif at the top, pretending to be a 
system monitor telling you that "your PC may not be optimized"

(3) the fact that I'm about to buy a Dell laptop, which is what the 
University prefers people do.

I remember hearing about a case where prisoners were being used for  
database entry work, based on purchasing patterns from people's credit 
cards.  One guy kept calling women up and saying things like, "Hi, 
Sally, is that new style of Kotex working out for you?"

"Prison Labor: It's not just for China anymore!"
