security clearances?

Am I correct in thinking that you had some level of security clearance to
work at that place in Burlington?  Is it worth (1) working for a place
that requires such a security clearance and (2) applying for such a
security clearance to apply for places that require it?

P.S. I'm not sure whether people I know would cooperate with such a
     security investigation, anyway.  I imagine this might be a problem
     itself.
