I looked at the web site and you can make appointments on-line.  The
earliest would be July 24th.

It also says that the wait for non-appointments is 1:45, that is, one hour
and 45 minutes.  I suggest that since you have time before you start work
on Monday, you just bring a good book, read it, and wait in line at the
 DMV.
