That's easiest. See below.

Sure, that's an option.

No. My old router died so I'm using that Linksys router you sent me a
while ago. Sorry.

My set-up is that I have a D-Link 3200AP (WAP) is connected to the Linksys
router and the WAP uses DHCP to get an IP address for itself. All
computers (well, most -- I segregate my Ubuntu laptop because I set up a
funky firewall on that machine) that connect to the WAP wirelessly use
DHCP to get their own IP address, including the Roku, my Nokia internet
tablet, and my work laptop (when I bring it home). (I decided on the
3200AP WAP because it was the only one I found that supported WPA2 with a
personal shared key. (I generated the key randomly using a program under
Linux, so it doesn't matter if it falls into the wrong hands.))

As far as buying routers is concerned, it looks like I have a RVL200
4-Port SSL/IPSec VPN router on my Amazon wishlist. I don't remember the
features it has, but there must've been some good reason I added it to my
wishlist... Anyway, you may want to look into it. I think the feature I
liked about it was that I could create SSH tunnels for extra wireless
security. But, that may be less necessary if you use WPA and don't
transmit much data.

It's OK. Working too hard. As usual.

Hurts. I'm seeing my doc tomorrow morning.
