Hey, Forgot to say thanks to everyone for prayers & well wishes ! After 8 days on chemo., Mom was feeling good about her progress.I reported to the Dr. some foot swelling , he recommended ceasing chemo. until we see him next. So she's a little disappointed to stop.....Of course Mom always prefers traveling herself but not up to it right now. More on that later. Hope Marie is doing well. I just received an e-mail from Bea a couple of days ago and wrote her again today. I asked if she would want a visit from me since we had talked about visiting this year anyway. So let me know what you think about me traveling down there. It might just be me as Richard is doing a lot more working lately. When I got her e-mail message she sounded like she knows what this lV stage cancer really means and yet she seemed to be relating in pretty good spirits considering. She mentioned that You and Caleb were taking good care of her!! Thanks for keeping us posted. The following is a synopsis of the events....After a colonostomy that the Dr. wasn't happy with , he ordered a C T scan (Wed. 6/2). This showed irregularitites in & around the descending part of the colon , most likely stage 4 colon cancer. We were sent to the hospital for possible surgery... Where several teams of medical specialist started a process of consultation & discovery , biopsies , etc. Surgery was eventualy ruled out at that time (Fri. 6/4)... And she was sent home with chemo. information and decisions to make . More time soul searching , brain storming , meeting with Oncologist , and looking at options . Mom decided to try the less aggresive oral chemo. Xeloda , 2 wks . on 1 wk. off , seeing Dr . every three weeks. She started the chemo. Wed. 6/23rd. She's still tired & overwhelmed from these events and condition , but seems to be regaining her mental/physical balance.... P.S. e-mail is probably her preferred form of communication Yours Truely &a mp;a mp;n bsp; Jan Church
