Thanks for update.
Hi Robert (and Noelle),
Thanks for sending this.
We enjoyed seeing you and Noelle on our way home
from Taylor's H.S. graduation celebrations.
On our camper trip from 6/1-6/4 we played your "Red
Diaper Baby" disk by Josh Kornbluth in the camper one night on Don's laptop
computer that he brought with him. We enjoyed it very much with many laughs, so
thank you very much. That trip had its good and bad points. Some of the driving
was done in quite high winds so we could only drive about 50-55 mph and was not
relaxing driving for Don. The first days the weather was otherwise good and
sunny. We very much enjoyed our 2 hour excellently guided tour of Piedras
Blancas Light (House) Station in San Simeon which comprised of various
historical buildings and grounds with coastal vegetation while several gray
whales cruised by on the ocean with their spouts going. If you haven't seen
that, I think Noelle, being interested in history, would particularly enjoy it.
We also of course viewed near by the elephant seals who were there molting. That
area has now become a regular tourist attraction and had a docent who answered
some of our questions about elephant seals which made it more informative.
Another day we had fun driving on picturesque rural roads in the Paso
Robles area (on our way to and from one of our campsites at Lake Nacimiento)
where there are lots of new wineries that we stopped to taste and buy wine. Many
of them have different varietals and blends than the usual ones we run into
elsewhere. The late evening and the next day (6/4) it rained so we decided
to leave for home a few hours earlier than scheduled as pretty much had seen and
done all that we really wanted to. The camper being used and an older model
had some problems with it such as some water eaks, etc. which we told our
friends about when we got home so they could get them fixed, but we adapted and
made the best of everything and learned a lot about the best ways to do things
in a camper.
When we arrived home, our living room window sills
and carpet were covered with hundreds of dead bees which was very bizarre. After
I swept them up into a waste basket, the next day several more came in, so Morey
suggested we light a fire in the fireplace to get rid of them which ended up
working so far just fine. Evidently they had built a nest/hive at the top of the
chimney.
It turns out that Don's angiogram/catheterization
is on 6/16 at 7 AM instead of 6/17 at 5 AM as his doctor won't be there on 6/17.
Love,
Gail and Don
