GUEST SPEAKER:  Melissa Schmidt Melissa is currently developing the Investor Relations Department at Top Tier Capital Partners, a venture capital fund of funds, which has over $2 billion under management.  Prior to joining Top Tier, she was at Gaia Interactive, an online forum for teens and young adults.  While at Gaia she worked directly with the CEO and CFO to implement operational structure and prepare the company for the next phase of business.  Before Gaia, Melissa was Incubic Venture Fund's Operations Manager.  Also, she worked at Shasta Ventures, were she focused on office management, LP communications, event planning and coordination.   Prior to her work in venture capital, Melissa was a regional director for a non-profit here in the Bay Area for 10 years and traveled to Asia and Europe to oversee programs.  She began her career at Prudential Securities where she obtained her Series 7 and Series 63 licenses from the NASD.  Melissa graduated from St. Mary's College in Moraga.
