There are instructions on http://winsupersite.com/windows-10/how-stop-windows-10-upgrade-downloading-your-system on how to disable the alerts. Otherwise, you'll need to continually dismiss the upgrade prompt. > Can you please tell me how long Windows 7 will last as far as > being able to continue to get Tech Support, etc - just like last year I > believe it was Windows XP had a deadline date that we had to replace it with > Windows 7 because I believe it no longer had Tech Support or perhaps it was > for another important reason. According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7 , there will be security updates until Jan 14, 2020. If you do want to learn one more operating system, but never have to upgrade, you might consider switching to linux. Otherwise, you probably will have to upgrade to Windows 10 at some point. The [only] good news is that Windows 10 will be the last operating system that you'd have to learn since, after Windows 10, Macrosoft will only refine Windows 10 and not do any more major releases. > Best, > > Gail > http://www.cox.net/~g3 <http://www.cox.net/~G3> > Noelle's-dad's-phone-number
