To play it safe, I would not include the password in an email. Just call
the person and tell them the password.
Alternatively, you could make the password a fact known only to the two
parties and give a hint what the password may be in the email. Obviously,
that's less secure.
If email is really the only choice and you cannot think of hint-able
shared secret, you should send the password in an email separate from the
email with the compressed file.
