You will be able to install it, but using it would be painful.
I'm surprised that Linux Mint live actually runs on that.
In addition to Puppy Linux, http://knopper.net/knoppix-info/index-en.html
would also run reasonably.
But, to answer your question: I would wait 'til you have more memory.
