I got the user interface to come up.  The key, however, is that you will
have to log in when booting your computer.  I.e., it won't automatically
log you in.

The other problem is that (something that I didn't know when I bought the
computer) the Asus Vivo Mini V66 does not have a built-in speaker.  It
works fine through headphones.  If this is a big issue, then we can wait
until after x-mas and buy some external speakers for you.  (I have the
extra pair of headphones that we have.)
