Ah-ha!  The author didn't mention Michael Giles.  Too bad.

Do you think it was unfair that the author didn't mention Stewart
Copeland?

The comment about Apollo is pretty funny.  And true.  Even in Natural
Science, it's all about science and not letting science go wild, but
nothing really about art.

Interesting how he "rebuilt his technique from the ground up" midcareer.
I don't think there'd be a way for me to do that with my professional, for
example.

I wonder if it was he who began the mechanization of the production of
modern pop music with his "perfectionism".  Did he play right into the
hands of the algorithms?

BTW, on this morning's call, Marnie was the only one to bring up Peart's
death.  She was listening to lots of Rush (the later albums, which I don't
really know, for better or worse), she said; I explained that we listened
to Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, and Moving Pictures.
