Not at all the case. As per Emi, my friend in Tokyo, there was never a
complete lockdown and it’s also illegal to impose one in Japan. The
mask-wearing and social distancing seemed to be keeping the virus at bay and it
is a government decision that delayed vaccination.
However, most Japanese people want the vaccine and disapprove of holding the
Olympics this year.
