I didn't realize that the Panama Papers was just some random leak that
happened to have nailed these people, and that existing laws on the books
are pretty much useless.

I guess this points to more need for investigative journalism and vocal
activism to chase down this money. Repeatedly asking congresspeople to
track down Bashar al-Assad's money may be the one "in" that may help open
this up, but I'm not holding my breath.
