I don't expect anybody to watch this or any in these series (they tend to
be a bit rambly), but just wanted to point out these series that the
historian Joanne Freeman does. She tries to point out positive recent
events in society, culture, and politics. She's quite animated (one of
the first things I noticed about her), and is always smiling and laughing.
She really does help me get to sleep.
On this particular episode, she talks about shared joy. In this case, she
discussed how her fellow New Yorkers and many, many other people were
happy at the outcome of the NBA Finals 🏀, and how we should
all recognize this when it comes along since it's so rare in modern
American society. (The most notable, of course, being when Nazi Germany
surrendered to the Allied Forces in World War II.)
Anyway, just wanted to bring your attention to it. 🎉
