Ah. This explains why Cleveland received such low approval ratings while
in office.
I guess he didn't have the political capital to seize the assets of the
millionaire class, unlike FDR. I guess this is why the Federal Reserve
tries its damnest to avoid depression-like conditions for fear that the
pitchforks will come out.
With a $40 trillion, it's possible that the Federal Reserves hands will be
tied. It will depend whether wallstreet gets bailed out again (thanks,
Nancy Pelosi!).
