This sorta comes back to those series in Monthly Review: are bees, in the
eyes of Marx, exploited workers (as "natural resources") or not? I think
they have to be. Is it possible for humans to have such a light touch on
planet that it can be completely restored?

"Planet of the Humans" seems to suggest reducing the population, but
people, including those guys on Owls at Dawn, don't want to hear that.
