"Much better to have the nationalists and the refugees competing with each
other for a place in Irish society, rather than having them unite against
their common class enemy."  It is interesting how housing has become the
new wedge issue.  In a lot of ways, it's an ideal one because it's an
obvious cost rather than a general lack-of-pay.  This is probably one of
the reasons the ruling class will never want to do anything about it.
