The ability of "getting a busy signal or message when someone is trying to call me" is typically a function of your telephone provider (Cox Communications?), not of the phone itself. I suspect that it will come with batteries, but you may need to replace them in a few years. (Our Panasonic model uses standard rechargeable AA batteries, which are available almost anywhere.) But, buying replacement batteries, regardless of the type, is really easy these days and should never be an impediment to keeping a landline phone virtually forever. Glad it worked out with Amazon. > From: "Gail" <http://www.cox.net/~g3> > Date: Thu, 21 Mar 2024 12:33:32 -0700 > > Hi Robert and Noelle, > > I just went on Amazon at your suggestion and was able to purchase a model # > KX-TGDA51(which is one of the ones listed in my earlier email to you) for > $30.66 with the tax.
