  Looks like our Roku is dead/dying. It fails to connect to the wireless LAN unless I Factory Reset it, set-up the networking, and reactivate the device with Netflix. I'll have to return it.

    What do you mean, "drop out"? The wireless and my broadband connection are on all day, but the Roku is powered on and off via power strip. Oh, really? I'd be surprised if were still under warranty since the last 10 months I got it. OK.

    I don't know. But, I wouldn't prefer this as a long-term solution since we've been trying to get rid of "current vampires" throughout the house as much as possible.

      It seems to work with a bit of fiddling each time. The rokulabs.com/roku.com people had some suggestions. The one that seems to work so far is to unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in.

    That's what we do -- power it off via a power strip. I don't know why re-powering it down and then powering it up after a 30 second wait makes a difference. In general, it may be on its last legs.

  Apparently, the dealer must've given you the code to your smart key because I have it here: 51879 It seems to indicate that it costs $200 to replace the key.

    I think so. But, it's best to have the old key since they apparently scan it with a special device for replicating it. If you lose both keys, you have to special order it. And, of course, you can't use the car in the meantime.

      I just looked. You have to make an appointment to see them and it takes 1 hour to replace the key. You should call 888-227-1539 to make an appointment at Toyota Sunnyvale and tell them that you need a new Prius key and that you have the code to program it...

    Good thinking. Did you insert the CD rom that was also in the box? That will contain the driver which will make the buttons become useful (maybe). You need to right-click on it (the icon), select Mode, and then select Normal.
